Promoting Pervious Concrete Meyer Material recently conducted a demonstration in partnership with the Wisconsin Ready Mixed Concrete Association, at Meyer's Oak Creek plant in Wisconsin. The demonstration promoted pervious concrete as an effective stormwater management solution. The day began with a short presentation to customers and employees on the USGBC's LEED Certification program and the gathering momentum of green building. As with the recent Northeast Region event, BASF's Bob Banka shared his in-depth knowledge of the technical aspects of providing and installing pervious concrete. Bob explained the virtues of pervious concrete as a apart of an overall system and the importance of proper installation. Following lunch, the group grew to over eighty attendees, as customers and employees were joined by participants of NRMCA's/WRMCA's Pervious Concrete seminar. Meyer Area Manager Kurt Boehlein helped coordinate the event and said, "This demonstration was a terrific opportunity to educate both our customers and our sales team on the benefits of using pervious concrete as a stormwater management solution." Boehlein continued, "As interests in this innovative product continues to grow, meyer has positioned us at the forefront in our marketplace." At the Greenbuild Expo in Chicago this November, the Meyer team will once again display their capabilities and knowledge at a special customer reception featuring pervious concrete. | |||
