The overall goal of Safety and Health at Aggregate Industries is Zero Harm to People. A further demonstration of management’s commitment to safety is the development and implementation of an Occupational Health &Safety (OH&S) management system. This management system is designed to control hazards and minimize risks to employees, contractors, visitors and the community.
Everyone on an Aggregate Industries’ site is responsible for his/her own health and safety. Managers and supervisors have to provide the safety and health processes and procedures and are accountable for managing OH&S performance.
Every individual is responsible for working safely, for following OH&S rules and procedures and to act in a manner so as not to endanger themselves or others. In addition, each person has a responsibility for being attentive to the health and safety of others. Each employee is to comply with local, state and federal safety regulations, as well as Company OH&S rules and procedures as a condition of employment at Aggregate Industries.
One key to the success of the Company’s OH&S management system is to ensure employees receive training on how to perform their jobs in a safe manner. In order to accomplish this, each employee is required to actively participate in the various training programs provided.
